Discipline

"Character is the beginning, commitment moves us to act, and discipline helps us follow through."

Commitment

"I think a lot of our team commitment is a silent understanding that each one of us has poured our life into what we're doing."
Leadership

Leadership

"...reinforce that it's the team, not a single individual that makes the group successful. It's all about the game and a common team goal - growth and winning."

A group of 15 girls, representing 9 different high schools, 6 leagues, 3 divisions, and 2 counties came together to form a very successful 16U team.  The Rebels  finished 23-20-3 while compiling a 7-3-1 record in the 18U division of North County Fall Ball, and gaining a berth to the Triple Crown World Series in Utah with a 3rd place finish in their first tournament.

Pitching and hitting were strong points for the Rebels.  The staff allowed only 135 earned  runs, an average of 3 per game, while the offense batted .330 and averaged 5 runs a game.

Good Luck to all our girls during their upcoming high school season.   We are looking forward to a great Summer Season!

Be Safe and Play Well,

Coach Shannon

One of our  Rebels 18 Gold team leaders, Milan Botte, and 2011 All-San Diego Division III First Team member committed today to attend Molloy College in Long Island, NY. Molloy competes in the East Coast Conference and  finished a very strong second last year in the ECC with a record of 22-8. We’re sure that Milan will give the program at Molloy what it needs to build towards that number one spot in the years to come!

When asked about her selection, Milan said in her inimitable way, “The other players were awesome, and I loved the coach. The campus fits me, and the environment was super homey!”

Well done Milan! You go girl!!!

Another senior committed this week to play college softball. Pitcher Brooke Langeloh will attend Chico State next year.

In Brooke’s words: “What made me chose Chico as my college is the serene environment and inviting people. I loved how the school was located in a relaxing little town that will help me to concentrate on my studies. Not only was the school great, but so was the team. When I visited the school and was able to practice with the team, they welcomed me in and supported me and one another the entire time.”

That’s what it’s all about… great school, great team and great opportunity for one of our own to compete and grow at the next level. Brooke has worked hard this season to elevate her game, and we’re happy that it’s paid off for her.

Another Rebel has made the commitment to play at the next level. Allie Tully has committed to attend George Fox University in Oregon next year.

Allie told us, “When I visited George Fox, I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the current players, teachers and my future coach.  George Fox University provides the Christian atmosphere I was looking for. It’s the perfect size for me… can’t wait to get there”.

Allie has worked very hard on her game, her academics and giving backed to her community. We wish all the best in the future, and feel blessed to call her a teammate and a friend!

Few players on the Rebel roster work harder and are more committed to reaching the next level then Kim Whelehon. Kim has exhibited outstanding growth in recent seasons, and her hard work has paid off with an invitation to play her college softball at Southern Arkansas University. An invitation that she has happily accepted!

“Southern Arkansas University has the small town, country feel that I was looking for. The hospitality of the coaches and girls was so comforting,” Kim told us.

Nothing makes the Rebels staff happier than when our players set and achieve their goals. Kim will be an outstanding player at the college level. We wish her the very best with academic and softball careers! Go Rebels!

Kaylie Drew has made her decision to play her college softball at the University of Hawaii, Hilo next year. She will be joining our very own Ashley Nelson who started attending Hilo this fall.

Kaylie has put an incredible amount of energy into making it to the next level and should be congratulated. She received a number of offers from across the country, but ultimately it came down to where she saw herself for the next four years. Congratulations to Kaylie and her family for this most exciting news!
